iPad in India?
I’m sure a lot of you are aware that China has been coming up with close replicas of the iPad and they finally managed to come up with one and its called the iPed (that’s how it’s spelled). It works exactly like an iPad with a touch-screen and cost much lesser than the real iPad, only going at $150. It’s getting much attention from some countries who are actually working on coming up with replicas of the iPad and selling it at a much cheaper price, namely India.
The Indian government is planning to develop a computer pad- with a large touchscreen, flash memory and solar charging capabilities.
According to BBC News:
The Indian government has unveiled a prototype of a new tablet, which is expected to cost about thirty-five dollars.
The planned PC will include a multi touch screen be based on Linux-like operating system, it will also act as a camera for video calls and have solar charging capability. In addition the pad PC Web browser will be able run various office software, similarly to the rest of the products category of the pad. The prototype was not presented with a hard drive. Instead, storage is performed on a memory card.
Could this be the next revolutionary invention by the Indians ? What are your thoughts about it?
