Read/Write NTFS on MACOS 10.5

It’s always very troublesome to write natively under Mac OS on NTFS formatted partitions. Previously it was necessary to either boot up Windows under Virtualization or buy one of the expensive software solutions available on the market

NTFS-3G is the solution. Currently version 2009.4.4, it runs very stable and I have not encountered any problems so far.

The Installation is pretty straight forward. Fire up Safari and download the NTFS-3G package from here. Scroll down and choose the first link under ‘Download’. Once this is done, just mount the image and install the package. After a restart everything is ready to go. Usually there is no extra attention required. Just plug in your NTFS formatted HDD and it will work.
